“Drinking for two again?”

Logan just nods. The old man sits two tankards full of the tavern’s daily special turned green and leaves him to his thoughts and ghosts. They both know he does this too often, but Harry’s kind and knows not to ask questions. He waits as other people drift in and out of the bar. He waits, and as the clock begins to strike midnight out on the town, Logan finally reaches into his jacket pocket, removes two shamrocks, and places them in the tankards.

He’s lost too many friends. He’s lost too many lovers. Sean was one of both. Though the first more often than the last, Logan can’t help but to remember their trysts, especially when they’d both had one too many and Sean was missing the freedom of the green and Logan the freedom of the woods, with a sad but huge grin. “Here’s to you, Cassidy,” he whispers, raising his own tankard and sips the green.

Of all those who had come back to him, Sean still hadn’t, but who knew what the year might hold? The Irish still believed in magic, and Logan knew better than to ever count the Banshee out.
