Hi everyone! I'm new here. I love slash fanfic, and I also really like Buffy/Angel, so I decided to join :) My first present for you all is a little something from Queer as Folk. It's actually my first ficlet ever, so be kind! Or rather... rip it to shreds ;)

Title: Something Missing
Author: Anne (starlight1013@hotmail.com)
Word Count: 244
Fandom: Queer as Folk
Pairing: Brian/Justin
Rating: PG (13?)
Timeline: Placed right after 301, since that's what I've watched up to; Brian and Justin are split up, and Justin's with Ethan. In order to understand the last line, you have to know why they broke up.
Summary: Lying in Ethan's arms, Justin automatically begins thinking about Brian.
Disclaimer: If I owned Brian and Justin, I would lock them in a room together and keep them ALL TO MYSELF! Bwahahahaha *cough* Therefore, I do not own them. Alas.
Feedback: Much appreciated, of course!

In Ethan's arms, Justin feels somehow wrong. He's relaxed and comfortable and loves the feel of Ethan's warm breath ruffling the hair on the nape of his neck – yet there's something vaguely unsettling about the whole situation.

He tries not to think about it, but he can't help it. The youthful leanness of the arm draped over his waist is just too strange and unfamiliar – he misses the mature strength and power inherent in Brian's presence, a sort of fortitude that rolls off of him in waves, radiating from his skin when they’re spooned together and enveloping Justin in its reassuring warmth.

He misses the unearthly blue glow of the lights over their bed... Brian's bed.

He misses the cute grumpiness of bed-head Brian in the morning.

He misses the gut twisting jealousy he feels whenever Brian gets home after 1 AM.

He misses the cocky arrogance that oozes from Brian's every pore, whether he’s lounging in a robe or devouring Justin's mouth with his own.

He misses everything about living with Brian: his blunt honesty, his insistence that Justin always drink out of a glass and never the carton, his resonant voice whispering dirty words mixed with tender endearments in Justin’s ear while making love.

A wave of grief washes over Justin, physically painful in its intensity, and he fights the sudden urge to wrench himself out of Ethan’s arms, arms that are wrong simply because they aren't his.

Romance is overrated anyways.
