slashthedrabble’s color challenge. It doesn’t go with any verse or anything, it’s just…there. Thanks
kitty_poker1 for the beta!
There were times Xander missed the sunlight. Oh sure, he was still able to go out into the daylight. But it didn’t seem right to go there when Spike couldn’t. His lover said he didn’t miss it, but on those few occasions that Xander left to go grocery shopping or meet with the girls and came back home, Spike would shove him to the bed and lay on top of him until all the warmth the sun had given him was gone.
If it had been a few weeks between his daylight excursions, he’d always be almost amazed and dazzled by the day-time world. It seemed like the green of the grass was always so bright, the blue of the sky so vibrant.
Then he’d go home, and despite the snark and the arguments Spike made him feel as if he was the most important person on the Earth. Despite being a bad ass vampire, the other man had an amazing romantic streak in him and for the first time in his life Xander knew he was loved, even cherished.
It was worth living in the shadows if he got to have Spike. He wouldn’t have it any other way.

Glad you liked. I don't think this could be a verse because...I have no idea how these bois got together or what happens next. It's just there.
