Colour Drabble - 100 Words - CSI, Greg/Nick

Fandon: CSI
Pairing: Greg/Nick

Pain was orange.

He hadn’t expected that. He’d thought maybe it would be red, like blood, pre-collection. Maybe blue, like corpse-pallor. But he hadn’t expected orange.

Blinding flash, force against his chest, like getting hit by a giant, slamming into the ground before being wrapped in warm orange pain that crept inside and stayed there even in the white sterility of the hospital.

Stayed there and teased at the edge of his mind as he wished for soft brown concern in friendly eyes that never came to see him, never checked in, left him to the flickering of orange pain.

Ouch! Innovative use of orange. Not something I've seen before. Lovely and very visual.

(Personally I referenced human body fat in my 'Orange' drabble'. *g*)

BTW - 'corpse-parlour' - did you mean 'pallor'?
