Challenge #136 - The Seven Deadly Sins #1 - Pride

It's theme time again, and this time we're tackling "The Seven Deadly Sins". For the next seven weeks we will be using the following challenges, in this order:

Pride, Gluttony, Envy, Anger, Lust, Greed, Sloth

We start the theme with "Pride".

Drabbles of 100 words and ficlets of 200, 300, 400 and 500 words exactly are acceptable, and please use cut tags. Have fun!
