Title: "Educating Edward"
Summary: Lessons in occlumency for a newborn vampire
Pairing: Edward/Carlisle Cullen
Word count: 200
Rating: T
He felt almost like Professor Henry Higgins, standing in front of the young vampire holding the book in preparation for yet another session. He cleared his throat, a bit self-conscious at his inexperience in these matters.
“Try again, Edward,” he said patiently. “ The purpose here is for you to block my thoughts. I am going to read The History of Taxation and I want you to concentrate on that fly on the wall behind you. Close your eyes and see if you can follow its path around the room.”
Edward nodded and closed his eyes and tried not to let the rich cadence of Carlisle’s voice invade his mind. Tried not to imagine the thin pale lips as they formed the words; the smooth wet tongue as it pushed the venom from the floor of his mouth.
He tried very hard not to imagine the lovely white teeth that nipped him playfully during lovemaking, the kaleidoscope of thoughts that accompanied the hands tracing his figure. The voice beckoned him, hypnotized him.
The fly was long forgotten.
“I can’t,” he said abruptly, registering the exasperation in the other man’s mind before pouncing on him.
Very well, anatomical studies it is.
