Opening Challenge #27 'Beginnings'

This week's challenge at slashthedrabble is 'Beginnings', suggested by co-mod reremouse.

You can really stretch your imaginations this week. Just about everything has a beginning, a conception, a birth, an origin. Maybe there's a point of departure, an embryo, or a dawning. Maybe it's an initiation, a launch or an introduction. Whenever, wherever or however 'it' begins, drabble it!

Drabbles of 100 words and ficlets of 200, 300, 400 and 500 words exactly are acceptable, and please remember to use cut tags. Most importantly of all, have fun!
