He shivered in the vampire's embrace, horrified that he could want this so much - and yet accepting that it had finally come to this.

A bright, liquid pain gripped him, then the humming buzz of relief washed through his mind. A mantra of 'relax, don't fight, enjoy' quilled through his brain, soothing, numbing.

Was this what it was like to die?

He didn't know, but, oh, what it would be to find out.

The words, the hypnotic rhythm of them, slid over him, their power to calm and distance the mind a surprising one. He didn't even really have time to wonder if it was an effect that was telepathic, or if he, himself, was trying to sink himself deeper into the pleasure/pain that was dying.

Relax, don't fear, don't fight, enjoy, slip away.

At this point in the game, even if he struggled, he would lose.

He took an odd comfort in that - that he wouldn't have to give the good fight. That all that he was - that he ever would be - did not matter in the wake of what was happening to him.

In that moment, absurdly, he knew what passion, and love amounted to – narrowing into the single bite of a vampire's kiss.

At that, all plans and thoughts of escape fell away into the red darkness, and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce breathed his last.

He was still shivering in his mind.

The weeks turned into months, and still – no escape.

No solace from what he had been, what he had become

No escape from what he was now, and would forever be.

If only one could break free from the good intentions of one's friends, one's family.

And go back to the oblivion of eternal unassuming darkness that was now home.

There may be only one hope of breaking free yet and he just prayed that they would not stop him.

He turned toward the concoction that meant comfort and smiled as he daydreamed of freedom.

Moscow was gone.

'It's like cutting your enemy's heart out with a scalpel. Clean. No residual radiation.'

Oh, God.

Daniel...

What happened to you?

What's going to happen to me?

The answer was here, it had to be.

Even as the guards came for him, chains looped around his wrists, their heavy sleekness indicating the presence of naquadah - a present that was all for his benefit, he was sure. He knew that he could somehow reach him.

He had never been so wrong in his life.

All the nations bowed to the new world power, and quiet, unassuming Daniel Jackson, 23 languages, 3 PHD's – was liken to a God on Earth.

The Doctor Jackson he had known, was no more. The cold light of power filled his eyes and the menace of a killer danced in his smile. The tortures that he had devised for his former friend and commander were unnumbered and it was all Jack could do to keep from going insane as the days passed, never-ending –

And then came the day when Daniel himself appeared, his smile promising pain; but the set of his eyes promised death.

Escape had never seemed so close, so attainable –

And the man once known as Colonel 'Jack' Jonathon Patrick O'Neill, welcomed it with a smile in his heart and emptiness in his soul.

Hope you enjoyed!! I know that I have a tendency to go over old themes. But I haven't worked out my issues yet! LOL!! Lemme know - and until next time -

I'll catch you guys on the flipside! Kisses and huggles -
Mandy
