/He smiled for all that he loved - a glowing brilliant smile, that made the Thing in Sam's body pause, then roar in realising, outraged defeat./

Pain -

Two seconds worth, that took a lifetime.

Dimly, he could hear the voice of his brother - questioning at first, then commanding - a tinge of nervous fear bleeding through the endless bravado.

"Sam?! Sam!"

He tried to reply, but was hit with another wave of electrical ice, mouth dropping open in a silent scream, as the hellish visions assaulted his mind; rivers of diverse chaos.

'Dean.' His mind croaked, tongue frozen stupidly in the center of his mouth, useless and pertrified.

/He smiled a smile of one who is righteous and lost and saved all at once.

He smiled in the fall of the silver moon, and then he saved himself from what would happen next -
/

"No!!!Nononononononono-"

"Sammy!! Sammy-"

/Dean Winchester smiled his secret smile -

And pulled the trigger.
/

'God, no - please! Make it stop!'

"Stop!" He screamed, voice rolling over the dry landscape of his tongue to tear out of his throat in an anguished wail.

His arrogance.

His arrogance would do this.

'Not him. Anyone but him.'

/"I've got it Dean - I know what I'm doing."

"Enough, Dean - I think I have a better idea of what I can and can't do, than you do."
/

Then, from outside of his pain - Dean.

"Fucking Christ, Sam! Are you okay?!" A warm hand gripping his shoulder, shaking him slightly.

Cold.

He was on the ground.

"Sam."

"I'm fine. Just don't-"

The hand abruptly released him, and he ached for the contact that was lost, his head too large and throbbing with acidic dreams-to-be.

"Sam." Softly, regretful. "Sammy - you don't know enough yet - you don't have total control over your abilities, yet."

/"Just listen to me, dammit!"/

A hollow echo of what could be.

Unless.

Sam sucked in a deep breath and was relieved to find the pounding wail of his head had decreased slightly.

"I know. I know, Dean-" One final flash - Dean's head, just coming apart, just -

And that smile.

He had no idea that Dean could be so beautific in the face of his utter destruction.

'And I don't want to find out first hand.' He thought with a shudder of horror.

He looked up, images of the here and now dancing smearily in front of his tired eyes, his brain still circling with the sheer terror of what it had 'witnessed'. Dean wavered, then steadied into focus as the headache faded a bit more, his expression of attentive concern the second most beautiful thing Sam had seen -

/The smile of the fallen, of an angel, before -/

He shuddered again, and shook his head at Dean - an assurance and a negative.

"I think," with a weak, but grateful smile. "I think it's time for plan B."

Hope ya liked, dear!
