Prompt: Light

The sunlight from the large stained glass window was reflecting colored light across the Gate Room onto the upper balcony. John had been watching it travel across the floor all morning, slowly creeping toward where he and Rodney were positioned.

 

John watched as the light traveled up Rodney’s legs and over his hips, eventually covering his whole body. He reached forward and nudged the scientist. “Stop poking at me!” snapped Rodney, his voice echoing oddly from under the console. John nudged him again and Rodney pulled his head out and glared at him. “What?”

 

John gestured toward the window and Rodney turned to look. The bars of blue and red slipped across his face and over his shoulder. John smiled as Rodney lifted his hands and looked at the pools of color splashing on his skin. A stripe of green settled at his waist and curved across his lap. A swirl of orange traveled up Rodney’s back and swung across the controls of the console. A mischievous baby rainbow slipped over his knees and ran up a chair. Rodney looked at John with eyes bluer than the window could create and allowed John to press a kiss to his mouth.
