Summary: One habit defines an agent

Routine (PG-13)
By Periwinkle

According to the dictionary, one meaning of “habit” was “an acquired pattern of behavior that often occurs automatically.” According to Napoleon, that defined his relationship with Illya.

In their apartment, the two of them alone, they had set patterns: who cooked, who did the security check, who bottomed. Well, maybe not the last one. That happened according to their needs and desires.

But their morning habit turned them from lovers into spies - the putting on of their shoulder holsters; the instinctive checking of their guns. The other routines merely defined them as a couple. This could save their lives.

You do realise that I've watched these films for years, had a huge crush on Ilya Kuryakin and have never ever seen them as slashy...

...until now.

*grins*

I was so wee and innocent when I watched this show, but as soon as I 'discovered' slash, my brain clicked back over a lot of my earlier favourite shows and MFU was one of those which pinged my slashdar. *g*

A lovely little peek into their lives. They have domestic and not-so-domestic habits! :D

I like how the patterns of living together meld seamlessly with their professional lives, too. Deceptively simple but very telling.

I really liked this – thanks! The last part reminds me of one of Linda White's Third Level universe, where the guys check each other’s weapons, and Napoleon wonders about their ritual.

Nezad :-)
