It happened so fast. A drink. A jerk. A stupid song on repeat. It erupted into something far bigger than he’d intended. Two more shotglasses burst and the next thing he knew, there were cuffs on his wrists and he was staring at a blank, cinder-block wall. He said he’d pay for the mirror, but the charges held. Then, just as fast, they were giving him a stern talking-to as he was let go; his bail was paid.
“James Wilson,” he said.
“Greg House,” he said. His overly-generous and quite-mysterious benefactor gave him a crooked smile.
It happened so fast.
