I go with the first thing that pops into my head. I had just read Vicky Loebel's The Early Days Affair (http://www.loebelclark.com/FanfictionHub/EarlyDays.htm) which has this scene: The man was begging for a fight and Illya felt a strong urge to oblige him. Height and weight were not always an advantage in these matters—something he rather suspected Paul Matthews had yet to learn. Still…in three and a half years, he had never raised a hand against a fellow U.N.C.L.E. agent.
He tried the thought again in French. In three and a half years, I have never raised a hand against a fellow U.N.C.L.E. agent.
Then in Russian. Then in German. When he ran out of languages, someone was going to get hurt.
