The first time he took a breath, the first time he felt his heart beat, he thought life was perfect again. He thought he’d been redeemed. He should have known. Nothing involving the Powers that Be could ever have been that simple. The Shanshu couldn’t have been a gift; it had to be a curse.

“Would you please take your feet off the coffee table!” Angel shouted as he walked by.

“Yes, dear.” Spike smirked, feet still firmly in place.

If they valued their life, whoever decided Angel had to marry this oaf to stay human would keep far away.
