He was dead. *Dead*.

Angel took down another gulp of his beer. How could he let this happen? He was supposed to protect people, so why couldn’t he just save this one?

It'd been almost three years that Angel's thoughts were plagued by the same face. The defined lips... the eyes that you could just look into forever... the determined voice that always meant business.

He hadn't ever told anybody how he felt, though. He’d never hear the end of it. Everybody would laugh at him.

But, it didn't matter anymore, because he was dead. His Snyder was gone forever.
