Title: All I Want
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Rodolphus/Rabastan
Prompt: #320 - Bargain
Rating: PG
Word Count: 200
Summary: "I was sure that there were some things that mattered to you more than beauty..."
“You’re marrying Bellatrix,” Rabastan said blankly, staring at the ring on Rodolphus’s finger. “You’re really marrying her.”
“You knew I was going to…” muttered Rodolphus, looking away.
“But… but…” Rabastan stared at his brother, and, to his profound disgust, felt tears prickling his eyes. “But why?”
“Because she’s rich and Pureblood and Mother and Father want me to. And she’s beautiful.”
Rabastan’s lip curled. “Oh, is that it. Beautiful, is she? I must be out of my mind, because I was sure that there were some things that mattered to you more than beauty.”
“I told you, Mother and Father want me to marry her! Do you think it’s my choice? Even if…”
“Even if you want her?” Rabastan spat. “You do want her, don’t even bother pretending that you don’t.”
Rodolphus’s jaw tightened, and he glared at his younger brother with an expression of pure venom, and Rabastan felt a wave of guilt for his harshness.
“All I want…” he whispered, “is for you to promise that you’ll always love me more.”
“Of course I will,” breathed Rodolphus. He knotted his fingers in his little brother’s hair and smashed his lips against his, feeling him melt in his arms.
