Out Loud Drabble - 500 words - BtVS
Title: Gem Bad!
Pairing: Spike/Xander, implied Willow/Tara and Buffy/Faith, with a pivotal appearance by Dawn
Rating: R
Disclaimer: Not mine, not for profit...just borrowing them to get the plot bunny that invaded my brain to shut up already.
Spoilers: BtVS Season 5
Dawn walked into the Magic Box and all discussion of what to get her for her birthday stopped abruptly. Dawn looked at them, scowled, and wandered over to the counter.
Absently picking up a gem lying near the cash register, she pouted. "Just once, I wish people would tell me what they're thinking instead of treating me like a little kid who can't understand!"
Xander watched Willow's eyes widen as she stared at Dawn's hand.
Suddenly, Buffy blurted, "Last night I dreamed that Faith broke out of jail and came to my room and we—"
Buffy's hand slapped down hard over her mouth before she could finish the sentence, wide, shocked eyes peaking out over the top of her hand.
Xander's jaw dropped and Spike snickered.
In the ensuing silence, Willow blurted, "Last night, Tara did this thing where her tongue sort of—"
Her admission cut off abruptly when Buffy's other hand slapped across her mouth.
At the counter, Dawn blinked several times, looking at Buffy and Willow in stunned wonder.
Spike snickered again, and Xander glared at him. "What's so funny, fangless?"
Spike turned to him, suddenly scowling. "Nothing, especially not the dream I had last night where we were back in that pathetic basement at your parents house, and you tied me to that soddin' chair again, then gave me the best suck job I've bloody well ever had!"
Xander gaped like a fish at Spike, while Dawn sucked in a sharp breath and Buffy and Willow both squeaked behind Buffy's hands.
Aroused by Spike's confession, and furious about it, Xander stood, his chair tipping over and clattering to the floor behind him. "Oh yeah? Well, that's not as bad as the one I keep having where we're at my construction site and I'm bending you over scaffolding railing five stories in the air and fucking your tight, undead ass!"
Spike's eyes flashed golden and Xander could have sworn he growled at him, although Xander was fairly sure it was an 'I want to fuck you through the nearest wall,' growl, and not an 'I'm going to kill you and bathe in your blood,' growl.
Across the table from them, Willow frantically tugged at Buffy's wrist.
Buffy pulled her hands away from both their mouths and shrieked, "What's going on! What made Xander and Spike gay! And...and me! And you with the…the TMI!"
Willow shook her head and pointed at the gem in Dawn's hand, yelling, "Dawnie! Gem bad! Drop it! Quick!"
Immediately, Dawn dropped the gem. A flash of light emanated from it and everyone slumped back down into their chairs, relieved, the urge to blurt out everything on their minds gone.
After, with everyone carefully pretending the blurting of deep dark secrets incident had never happened, they hurriedly dispersed, research forgotten.
Xander stood to leave and found himself caught in Spike's hungry gaze for an instant, before arming himself with good old hellmouth denial and quickly hurrying out the door.
