"On the Company's Dime" - Lindsey/Xander - 200 words

Here's my answer to this week's challenge - a bit of Lindsey/Xander (hearts for my OTP). There are so many stories that feature Xander and Lindsey meeting up in Oxnard. This is my answer to why they "didn't last". A little funny, a little angsty, a little creepy.

Making personal phone calls at work can be a bad idea.

Lindsey chuckles and leans back in his seat. “Good to hear your voice, too. It’s been too long.”

Pause. “You’re kidding me. You sure she’s a woman? Dropping her dress like that took bigger balls than I’ve got.”

He leans forward. “She’d better leave you alone. You’re mine. We’ll get it tattooed on your ass if we have to. I keep what’s mine. And I’m getting you down here in L.A. pretty soon.”

Pause. “Make up some excuse. Say you want to go see an old friend.” Low chuckle. “OK, a new friend. But I want you here. Want to sink my cock into that delicious –“

“Ahem.”

Lindsey glances up. Holland Manners stands in his doorway, head tilted a little to the side. He holds up a company cell phone. Lindsey can hear his lover’s voice crackling through the speaker, talking about what he wants to do while they’re fucking like weasels. His words.

“Lindsey,” Holland says, in that pseudo-parental way that creeps him the hell out, “I think we need to talk.”

His mouth dry, Lindsey speaks into the receiver. “Sorry, Xander. Gotta go. I’ll call you later.” Looking at Holland, he swallows hard, and lies: “I promise.”
