This is my 100 word drabble for this week's
slashthedrabble which is 'The Dark of Night'.
Lurking in Shadows
Nothing looked the same when the sun went down. Even something as simple as a trench coat hung over a chair could take on a sinister appearance. In the dark of night, I would lay awake and think about when monsters lurked beneath the bed.
The mattress shifted and I felt a hand rustle gently through my hair. Leaned into the touch, knowing he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. "Doyle, go back to sleep."
Sighing, I snuggled up against his body, ignoring how cold it was. His hand traced along my tattoos. Now the monster was in my bed.

Now the monster was in my bed. Great sentence to end the drabble!
