This is my 100 word drabble for this week's [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble which is 'The Dark of Night'.

Lurking in Shadows

Nothing looked the same when the sun went down. Even something as simple as a trench coat hung over a chair could take on a sinister appearance. In the dark of night, I would lay awake and think about when monsters lurked beneath the bed.

The mattress shifted and I felt a hand rustle gently through my hair. Leaned into the touch, knowing he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. "Doyle, go back to sleep."

Sighing, I snuggled up against his body, ignoring how cold it was. His hand traced along my tattoos. Now the monster was in my bed.

I love this - how it ends and the fact you didn't out right say the pairing. Well done. ^^

Lovely!
Now the monster was in my bed. Great sentence to end the drabble!
