You’ve got to do it, you see? I’m more afraid of not being with you than I’m scared of dying.

I don’t want to get old when you stay this age forever. You know all that live fast, love hard, and leave a great looking corpse…

I want to choose when I get to go. I don’t want to die old and weak, don’t want to die in my sleep.

I want to feel it. I missed most of my life already, and I don’t want to miss my death. I want to embrace it.

I want to smell it.

In my own mind's eye, this is Spike/Xander, with Xander asking Spike to turn him.

But yes, you saw straight to the point of it. I can see Xander wanting to do something different rather than be stuck in a rut, to want to sleep all day, party all night, never grow old, never die. Sorry, channeling The Lost Boys there.*g*
