Xander with no real pairing, 100 words, just plain silly.

Here's my entry for this week's 'mistakes' challenge.

It's 200 words and from Spike's POV.

Poor vampire, will he never learn that Resistance is Futile
Hey. This is my first post to the community, I found it advertised out in another one I'm in, and I think that it rocks. So, here's my contribution as way of an introduction.

For the mistakes challenge
Pairing: S/X
Rating: PG-13

Mistakes

Sometimes... it just didn’t pay to play the recalcitrant childe.

Looking back he should’ve seen the warning signs, should’ve known better, and now he was going to regret it.

As the first lick of fire exploded across his ass with a resounding CRACK, causing him to yelp and grip the edge of the desk tighter, he knew for certain that he had made a big mistake in choosing this night to piss off his sire.

Closing his eyes and gritting his teeth against the pain, Spike tried to imagine being bent over his sire’s desk for another reason.

Could happen.
Here is my offering. It is actually the same "mistake" from three different POV's. I hope that is okay. They all are 200 words.

NC-17 to be safe

Mistake - Wesley's POV )

Mistake - Angel's POV )

Mistake - Spike's POV )
It seemed so natural at the time. Sign the scroll, win the day. So why is it that now, standing in a blood drenched alley, dead friends at his feet, hordes of demons at the ready, strength fading as quickly as his remaining companions, that it all seems a mistake?

To give up a future of grey hair and wrinkling skin was easy when he thought they had a chance. Chubby cheeked grand children and a beautiful, yet aging wife at his side, dying old and sated, images of a happily ever after filled his mind even as he watched the dried papyrus turn red with his blood.

It wasn’t until he saw the last sword fall at his side, heard the final cry of his centuries old lover, and another older still, that it sank through to his bones. He’s alone. Blinking away blood and sweat, the last peaceful smile left his mind’s eye in that split second. He will never be human, never feel the sun on his face again. And Angel thinks that maybe, just maybe, it would have been better to stay and live the lie. Watching the Apocalypse sweep the nation from his high-rise apartment.
Making his way down the stairs is harder than it should be. The slightest breeze of early-morning air knocks him off balance on legs too weary. The jet rumbles gently as the pilot urges them out the door by revving the engine. He stumbles to the side, ignoring Spike’s laugh behind him. Heavy bootfalls pushing him forward, trying to institute a rush where none is left. Angel’s head is groggy in the worst way, a swim of alcohol and grief. The night sky seems to chase him, blurred stars that he knows should be still dance like comets through a meteor shower, leaving orange tracers in their wake.

A hand at his back sends chills over his skin, making it crawl, beg, scream for the touch to stay there, lingering. And then it’s gone, followed by a pained laugh and shouts to hurry. Ten steps never felt so like a pyramid to the sky, the prince descending on the land at long last.

Angel vows to never board a plane again, certainly not with Spike. Alone he may have been able to sleep the trip away, ignore the roiling pain that gripped his stomach the second they hit altitudes high enough to pop your ears. Alone he might have just popped in a movie and sipped at a calming whiskey. Alone he might have had a proper cry, in private, not the sort that comes when you can’t help but take comfort in whoever is closest. Of course alone is only a dream, Spike is always there now.

Spike on his knees saying it was more comfortable than the chairs. Spike at the mini-fridge twisting the tops off tequila bottles as fast as his hands could move. Spike spouting poetry at the sight of the world below. Spike letting him forget that they had failed their mission, lost the girl. Spike forcing reminisces down his throat like liquor and family blood. Spike asking for distraction, offering to make his own. Spike performing the slowest of stripteases, expecting Angel to stop him, begging him to not.

When his feet finally hit the tarmac Angel can’t help but look at the grinning fool behind him, inappropriately content when they should be mourning. The smile is contagious, just as his need had been earlier. Angel can’t help but smile at his favorite mistake, even as he curses himself for making it yet again.
Here is my offering for the week.

Xander is always getting into trouble because he pushes people too hard. Here are 5 drabbles with 5 times Xander got into trouble by making the mistake of pushing too hard.

Each drabble is 100 words, varying in ratings, so they are behind the cut.

In order: Angel, Giles, Angelus, Wesley, and Spike )
Theme: Mistakes

This felt rushed to me. I may come back to it in the future and expand it into something longer since I like the idea. It deserves longer than a handful-hundreds words.

Xander outstayed his welcome. )
Sparked by a challenge from [livejournal.com profile] spikes_heart, here's two drabbles that take place during "A New Man" (BtVS). My take on what might have happened between Giles and Ethan's getting rip-roaringly drunk and the spell that came later.

The first drabble is Giles' POV:

'No Regrets' )

And the second is Ethan's POV:

'Regrets' )
Regret )
My 500 word response to this week's challenge.

Title: Stay

Spoilers: general for early seasons of both shows
Disclaimer: Josh owns the boys
Summary: Response to a drabble challenge. This week's challenge is 'Mistakes', which offers plenty of scope for your characters to get up to all sorts of things. Did they do something they wish they hadn't? Did they not do something and then wish that they had? Did they say the wrong name, choose the wrong path, go left when they should have gone right? The possibilities are endless.

Stay )
So, as far as I can tell, very few people even remember this cartoon, much less write fic for it, but oh well, just some pointless fluff anyway.
