He had intended to live without regret. He had made mistakes to be sure, far too many, but he refused to allow himself the luxury. He took responsibility for his actions, he suffered for his redemption, and he continued on. Regret wasted energy lamenting over what could not be changed, not even with magic. He was not a man who partook in pointless activities.

Despite his intentions, he regretted the pain he had brought to soft eyes. He regretted standing there silent, watching him turn away, worn and faded robes covering the sorrowful man he could not ever call back.
