Hello, and welcome back to [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble!

Everyone is sure to be busy this week, but we're throwing out a challenge anyway, in case someone feels inclined to play.

The challenge is: "The Dark of Night". All sorts of things can happen after dark. Illicit liasons? A sleepy lover, stumbling in to bed? The sun going down on an argument? You can go anywhere in this challenge.

Reminder: drabbles of 100 words and ficlets of 200, 300, 400 and 500 words are acceptable. Cut-tags are your friends for RPS or anything graphic/NC17. All fandoms, m/m and f/f are more than welcome!

Good luck, and happy drabbling!
This is my 100 word drabble for this week's [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble which is 'The Dark of Night'.

Lurking in Shadows

Nothing looked the same when the sun went down. Even something as simple as a trench coat hung over a chair could take on a sinister appearance. In the dark of night, I would lay awake and think about when monsters lurked beneath the bed.

The mattress shifted and I felt a hand rustle gently through my hair. Leaned into the touch, knowing he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. "Doyle, go back to sleep."

Sighing, I snuggled up against his body, ignoring how cold it was. His hand traced along my tattoos. Now the monster was in my bed.
