Disclaimer: Whether RP (real people) or characters, this is totally based on my own daydreams and fantasies. I don't claim to own anything, nor do I profit from writing and sharing fanfic.
Beta: None.
Warnings: Slash (male/male).
Author notes: I remain amazed by how much a person can say in only 100 words. I love drabble challenges. If you're familiar with "S.W.A.T" (the movie and book), then you know there's a very slashy pair in Brian and Jim. Brian leaves S.W.A.T. and L.A.P.D. after he and Jim have a big fight. (I won't say more for those who haven't seen the movie and might still want to...) Anyway, there's a ton of subtext there. Or so my husband and I believe! LOL. ~No Fairy Tale~

"Wait up, Brian! I'm coming with you!"

Brian stopped, pivoting to face a grinning Jim.

"Seriously?" Brian breathed.

"Yeah." Jim's dark eyes were dancing.

Brian opened his arms and Jim pressed close. They embraced, shared a kiss and both began to laugh. It was a joyous moment.

Brian shut then opened his eyes, staring wearily around him. There was no Jim anywhere in sight. He was walking away from the precinct alone; walking away from both S.W.A.T. and his partner.

"It was just a fairy tale," he whispered, shaking off the moment. There'd be no 'happily ever after' this time...

~end~

Wow...that's...it's heartbreaking is what it is.

You're right. Drabbles can be amazing! I'm not familiar with the fandom, but this is excellent, Brian! Nice first offering for [livejournal.com profile] slashthedrabble ;^)

Again...very powerful, very sad. Thanks for sharing!

Very sad but very good.

Or so my husband and I believe!

I love that your husband sees it too :D.

Aw! So sad! Just a moment of hope. Thanks for playing!

BTW, I haven't seen the film but I think it's just been added to my 'must see' list. :D

Oooh! Wonderful. Another drabble link! Very sweet and sad. (Brian should just turn around and go back, damn him!)

Hey, how come you never showed me this? It reminds me of my recent drabble "Wha?" until the end. These guys can live happily ever after, even if it's just in our fantasies (and fanfic).

shaking off the moment

That's Gamble. He gets all sentimental for a minute, then he moves on. He's a hard dude -- or he's trying to be.
