Fandom: The Sentinel
Pairing: Blair/Jim
Notes: I almost forgot about it this week, which means I'm writing it late tonight, quickly >_<, and my brain is no longer functioning on a level that will produce a good title. So, instead, I'm calling it

It was raining, again, when Jim got home. He’d hoped to find the loft warm, and a game on the TV, but he didn’t get either. On the other hand, there was dinner, so he wasn’t going to complain. Before going for the food, he looked around in the dark, trying to figure out why the place was so cold.

The balcony door was open. There was a storm outside, wind, rain, fury, all that, and the door was open. What’s more, when he finally turned his hearing up and ignored the water hitting everything, he could hear Blair’s heartbeat outside. In the rain.

He forgot about the food, walking across the room to figure out what the hell Sandburg was doing now, when the room filled with white light, and a moment later the air crashed with the following thunderclap. Jim screamed, dropping to his knees, trying to figure out why he never seemed to learn that what goes up must come down, even his hearing.

He hearing was gone, so it wasn’t surprising that Blair reached his side without him sensing, not until he was being helped to his feet, leaning against the warmest cold as Blair shouldered his weight, dripping water all the way over to the couch. Jim’d complain about the mess later. Right now, he let himself get dropped to the couch, looking up as Blair turned on the lamp.

Wild curly hair, tightened, but not tamed, by the rain, flushed skin, maybe from cold, maybe from the same excited joy that filled the warm blue eyes that were looking at him with concern as Blair’s mouth moved soundlessly. He almost smiled as Blair fussed over him. Maybe this was why he never learned. After all, some things were worth a shock to the senses.

Quite right too. Having someone fus over you is worth a little pain. Lovely. :D
