Title: Unexpected Welcome

Warnings: Torture, manipulation, bloodplay, violence.
Word Count: 500
Xander looked up at the ominous monsters standing above them. He started to struggle, trying to talk, but Angel's hand pressed down harder until the boy stilled beneath him.
The one of the creatures began to speak. It was sounded like a series of grunts and clicks, but Xander knew they were speaking. Silence reigned until another creature started, this one trilling in a sweet, lilting song.
The two men listened quietly as several demons spoke, each sounding different, rough and guttural, or gentle and melodic in turn.
After one creature spoke, Angel gasped and whispered, "Welcher Krieger?"
Xander knocked the hand over his mouth away, gaping up at the vampire astride him. "You understood that? What demon language is it?"
Angel glared at him. "German."
"Oh. Well, since you can understand them, why don't you…?"
He was quickly silenced when the strong, pale hand covered his mouth, squeezing tightly.
"Why don't you shut up and let me handle this, boy!"
Angel barely had the threat out of his mouth before several large, dangerous looking weapons were pressed against the flesh of his throat.
An angry demon stepped forward and growled, "You do not threaten the warrior, half-breed. We know not how you came, but you can leave."
Slowly, Angel removed his hand from Xander's mouth and shifted to his knees. As he moved, the creatures gasped, quickly hauling him to his feet.
"You have injured the warrior! For that you die!"
"No!" Xander shouted, reaching his hand out to the vampire. "He didn't do this. It was Buffy."
The demons looked at each other in confusion, as if they were conferring on what a 'buffy' could be. They appeared to reach a consensus and a call went out. Slowly, the crowd began to part as a smaller creature approached.
The new demon reminded Xander of an old man, like the elderly shaman from a Western. The Shaman knelt beside him, examining the still seeping wound. Shimmering violet eyes met Xander's hazel as the creature asked, "Sword?"
Xander shrugged, grimacing in pain at the movement. The demon reached behind himself before turning back, producing a sword identical to the one that had been in the stone demon in Sunnydale. Looking from the sword to the shaman, Xander slowly nodded.
Before he could protest, Xander was hauled to his feet and the sword in the small demon's hand was thrust through his body. His body bowed in pain, Xander froze, a scream caught in his throat. His body felt hot and cold in turn before the invading metal was suddenly gone.
Running his hands over his trembling abs, Xander stared down at the unmarred flesh. He searched for Angel, finding his vampire in full game face, restrained by several of the demons.
"Please let him go," Xander whispered. Immediately, Angel was freed and by Xander's side.
As Xander looked around, the demons surrounding them began to kneel. The shaman smiled and called out in a surprisingly loud voice, "Welcome the warrior!"
