It seemed to Bishop Aringarosa that his body was obscene in its earthiness.  He was a large, heavy and his ample flesh seemed to betray him as a man of appetite and coarse sensuality, a venal man.  He knew too much about money and politics, about good food and good wine. 

 

            Silas was different.  His body was a worthy vessel for the Holy Spirit.  Purest white, so pale that light shone through him.  And though slender, he was strong.  To Aringarosa, Silas had always been his angel.  A holy creature that transcended the flesh.

 

And yet he might be touched.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I found the subtext between Aringarosa and Silas the most interesting part of the Da Vinci Code and the prompt "flesh" seemed like a perfect excuse to try my hand at writing about them.
