“Linds, can you please get that light bulb for me?” Angel was balancing two year-old Connor on his hip, making sure that lunch wasn’t burning.

“You can see fine without it.” Lindsey called out as he passed the kitchen, heading out to grab the afternoon mail. It always came at one o’ clock on the dot, which was always right before lunch. That way, Lindsey could read whatever came in over a nice home-cooked meal. He wasn’t going to interrupt his comfortable routine to get a lightbulb that Angel didn’t need. Especially since that meant going down into the basement.

“Maybe I wanted to feel comfortable.” Angel said at him once he’d gotten back inside. “How many times do I have to ask you for things, Lindsey? I’m feeling underappreciated. I think we need to sit down and have a talk about things. It would make me feel a lot better. You know how important this relationship is to me.”

He put Connor down in the high chair and walked over to Lindsey’s seat at the table. Smiling softly, he bent to kiss Lindsey's temple, fingering the necklace peeking out of the man’s shirt.

“There’s no need for a talk, sweetheart.” Lindsey smiled, demeanor changing. “It’s just . . . I’m tired from last night.”

“Mmm. As am I.” Angel smiled in return, turning around to get lunch. “But you still see me working, don’t you?”

“Fine.” Lindsey snuck a glance at the door to the basement. “I’ll go after lunch.”

Even if he didn’t want to.

“How’s my little man today?” He turned his attention to his son. If all he had to do was change a lightbulb every now and then, he was a very lucky man. With a family and love like this, what could be wrong?
