Clock Watching
By Periwinkle
How amazing, Illya thought, how the perception of time passing varied. Some days the clock hands seemed to spin around frantically - mainly when someone shot at him.
Other times the opposite happened, the clock standing still - usually when he was tortured or imprisoned.
It amazed him how fast the years had gone by. It felt as if he had only met Napoleon recently, only fallen into bed with him yesterday, but in truth it had been decades which had passed in the blink of an eye. He wished he could stop the clock; live in those years forever.

I should mention that my ex is a very good guy, continues to take care of us and still my friend. The marriage just had some odd problems.
