The words hung in the air, receiving no acknowledgement whatsoever.

Slumping in his armchair, Percy took his glasses off and let out a sigh. Yet another stupid, pointless, bitter argument. They seemed to have plenty of them lately, didn’t they?

He squeezed his eyes shut.

It only made things worse, for when he heard Harry move, panic took over – that’s it, he’s leaving, God no! Not like that, not-

There was a tap on his shoulder, and Harry’s cold, resentful, “Never mind, Perce, forget it,” felt like sweet relief.

His world set right again, Percy opened his eyes.
