The flight from Africa landed at dawn. He knew that Gibbs would go directly to the office.

So he waited in the basement, sipping bourbon.


Eventually, he heard footsteps on the landing.


“What the hell do you think you were doing Gibbs? Do you know the deep shit that you are in?”


Saying nothing, the gray-haired agent walked over and took the glass from the other man. He lifted it to his lips and drained it.


“I had to get them all back, Tobias. They’re my family.”


The FBI agent pulled the taller man into a fierce hug. “I know”
