“I left him there. I didn’t have a choice.” Napoleon’s voice was filled with pain as he remembered the agent who had died on their mission.

Illya sat next to him on the couch and tugged him into his arms. “I know. However sometimes you have to."

“I know, but it hurts.“

They sat for a few moments, Illya trying to soothe his partner’s pain, rubbing his back. After a while, Napoleon looked up, his hazel eyes glistening with tears. 

“Illya...”

“Yes, lyubov?”

“If it had been you and me…”

“Yes?”

“I  would never have left you behind.”

“I know.”
