There’s a supreme difference in my partner when we’re on the job and when we’re off.

When we’re on an affair, he is a consummate performer; no one has seen through his facade – not our boss, our co-workers nor our enemies – and I sincerely doubt anyone ever will.

When we’re home, it takes time but eventually he allows the masks to slip away and I am given the honor of seeing the man for who he really is. A somber, giving, thoughtful soul who offers up himself in the firm belief that he can make the world a better place.

Thank you! It's part of my getting ready to go back to school thing. I'm making myself write at least a drabble a week so I have some kind of deadline that I have to meet. Yeah, tiny baby step but it's a start. I'd work on "Alone" but it's on the non-working computer and I had some nice things started that I really don't want to lose...

I've been debating about doing NCIS drabbles...maybe. I found a couple of communities with interesting ideas - 30_lemons or 7snogs that maybe I'll just drabble using their prompts without joining their communities.

Right now I'm trying to come up with something for the current slashthedrabble prompt...
