They were the weak links. The mortals that walked among gods -- or not so much. The ordinary guys with nothing to give except their hearts and the strength in their human arms. Not as smart, not as strong, not as clever, not as cunning.

But what they had, they gave.

And what they gave was taken, down to the eye from one’s skull and the blood from the other’s veins.

When they meet, it’s with a sense of fellow-feeling. And although they pass like ships in the night, they think of each other thereafter, and wonder - what if…?

Ah, yeah. Gunn and Xander have both *known* that everyone else is special, and they're not.

Then Gunn risked everything to get his super lawyer intelligence. I wonder if Xander would have made the same choice if it'd been given to him too.
