Title: My Hair
Author:
georgiesmith
Fandom: The Man From UNCLE
Pairing: Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Prompt: #230 - Curse
Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction and not for profit.
What might appear to be a blessing can indeed be a curse.
Take my hair for example.
Everyone wants to touch it. EVERYONE. Co-workers, enemies, the woman (and man) in the street. It makes me stand out in a crowd and in my line of work it’ll end up being the death of me. Literally.
The only person who is allowed to touch only indulges himself when we’re somewhere alone. My partner runs his hands through my hair as we make love, holding me close and whispering Italian endearments into my ear.
Maybe my hair is a blessing after all.

Thank you! Nice of you to post! (And a fellow Smith as well!)

Ah, the very lovely Jack Davenport (who should have been the 11th Doctor but that's just me).
Mine is no one really. I've had the George nickname since I was a kid (Nancy Drew reference) and when I started in online fandom I felt like I needed a last name. It was kind of a combination of "Doctor Who" (he uses the "John Smith" pseudonym when he needs to) and "Alias Smith & Jones" (Smith aka Hannibal Heyes) was always my favorite. (See icon.)
Not surprisingly and rather embarrassingly, there are a lot of people really named George Smith out there...

I will have to check it out!
I'm ashamed to say I don't know the first thing about Doctor Who, although I've heard loads about it.
If you are into science fiction (or time travel/history) then you'd enjoy it. The new producer of the show is the same fella who created/wrote "Coupling" - Stephen Moffat.

Thanks! I enjoyed this one even though I was stuck when I first saw the word of the week.
As I said in my post to your drabble, I love the fact that we come with such different ideas for every weekly challenge.

The man was begging for a fight and Illya felt a strong urge to oblige him. Height and weight were not always an advantage in these matters—something he rather suspected Paul Matthews had yet to learn. Still…in three and a half years, he had never raised a hand against a fellow U.N.C.L.E. agent.
He tried the thought again in French. In three and a half years, I have never raised a hand against a fellow U.N.C.L.E. agent.
Then in Russian. Then in German. When he ran out of languages, someone was going to get hurt.
so the idea of Illya cursing was in my mind.

This time around I just opened Word and sat there for a moment and then started typing. I have no idea where the idea came from. I think I spent more time cutting it town to 100 words than I did writing it in the first place. (I'm guessing that's pretty much the norm.)

Thanks so much! And welcome to the challenging world of the drabble. It's heaps of fun but challenging. Best thing to do is just to jump in with both feet and enjoy yourself - the folks here are quite kind and supportive.
